Found Friday: Washington Old School House Antique Festival

All others cussed!

Last weekend Sharime K and I headed to the small town of Washington, Louisiana for their semi-annual old schoolhouse antique festival. I have gotten some really great things there before (like the post office in my dining room) and this year was no exception. I walked away with 3 amber bottles ($2 each), a vintage children's science book with fantastic illustrations ($1), and an entire box of resin corbels, trims and such ($25). All in all I'd say it was a pretty great weekend. We ended it with a trip to LSU's annual vintage clothes closet sale where we each scored fantastic hats and a few apparel items.  Doing my favorite things with my best friend. It doesn't get much better than that.

Side note: I found out that the resin pieces were from a member of one of my favorite Scottish bands, Smithfield fair. Yeah, I'm that dorky or as Sharime K puts it "so weird." But it made them infinitely cooler (and so much more special) to me! I can't wait to hang the lot of them on my wall.
